Actuarial Scholarships
- Actuarial Science Exam Reimbursement: This award is intended for Actuarial Science students at UT Dallas who are successful in passing actuarial science exams administered by either the Society of Actuaries or the Casualty Actuarial Society. To receive the award, the documentation of successful completion of the exam should be emailed to Dr. Natalia Humphreys. The number of awards made each given year will be based upon available funds that support the exam prize. Generally, recipients will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis.
- DW Simpson Scholarship DWS Eligibility and DWS Application (pdf): Please email your applications/resumes directly to the UTD Actuarial Scholarship Committee (not to DW Simpson). The submission deadline is April 15, 2019. Once the best applicant is selected, the committee will then forward their recommendation to a DW Simpson scholarship representative by May 1, 2019
- A number of external scholarship opportunities are also available to students pursuing a career in actuarial science. To apply, please follow the guidelines and instructions outlined by these respective organizations.
- Diversity Exam Reimbursement Program : The CAS/SOA Committee on Actuarial Diversity is offering a reimbursement program rewarding those Diversity candidates who pass Exam P/1 and/or FM/2. Diversity candidates – African North American, Hispanic, or Native North American – who pass Exam P/1 and/or Exam FM/2 will be reimbursed for the fees for the passed exam. An applicant must be either a U.S. citizen or have a permanent resident visa. This reimbursement program is not designed for individuals employed full-time in an actuarial position. - International Association of Black Actuaries (IABA) Scholarships: Many IABA scholarships come with an internship or entry level offer.
IABA Eligibility and IABA Application. Exam Reimbursement: This year, any eligible student who completes the IABA Scholarship application may be eligible for exam reimbursement, under IABA’s new exam reimbursement guidelines. IABA Exam Reimbursement Program (pdf).
