Master of Science in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology
This interdisciplinary program is offered jointly by the Departments of Mathematical Sciences and Biological Sciences (see degree requirements).
- Its innovative curriculum involves courses in Biology, Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science.
- The program offers a choice between two tracks: one is designed for students with a general science/engineering background and the other is for students with a strong background in biology. Both tracks offer opportunities for research.
- Limited financial support in the form of scholarships and awards are provided. Additional scholarships are available for US citizens and permanent residents.
- Our students, both domestic and international, have a strong record of starting in full-time jobs right after graduation.
- To enhance career prospects, students can pursue Graduate Certificate in Data Science, and possibly use the certificate courses to fulfill the MS degree requirements.
- Eligible UT Dallas students can Fast Track into this MS program and take up to 15 credit hours of MS courses to fulfill the BS degree requirements.
- NSM Career Success Center is available to support professional development and experiential learning of students.
- This program accepts Quick Admit applications from eligible UT Dallas graduates of qualifying BS programs.
- GRE test score is not required for admission.
