- 64th Texas Geometry & Topology Conference was held on February 25-27, 2022 at UTD.
- The workshop Computational Mathematics Day at UTD: Numerical Methods and Uncertainty Quantification for Porous Media Flows was held on May 8, 2018
- The Graduate Student Combinatorics Conference 2018 was held on April 6-8, 2018 at UTD.
- A Symposium in Honor of Professor Ivor Robinson on Mathematical Physics and General Relativity was held on May 7-9, 2017 at UTD.
- The department held Mathematics in the Galaxy … and Beyond on Saturday, January 28, 2017 to increase the interest of underrepresented high school students, especially female, in mathematics.
- A week-long workshop on Applicable Theory of Switched Systems was held from June 6- 10, 2016, organized by Dr. Oleg Makarenkov.
- The Department became the third permanent home of the Texas Analysis and Mathematical Physics Symposium, together with UT Austin and Rice Mathematics Departments.
