Convergence of harmonic maps when domain becomes singular
Woongbae Park (Pitt) February 21, 2022
After the well-known Uhlenbeck compactification result, the bubble phenomenon of harmonic maps has been studied via various approaches. However, when the domain degenerates, only few results are known. In this talk, I will present a method using Deligne-Mumford moduli space to derive similar results to usual case of fixed domain. The classical “bubble tree solution” can be obtained under “regular nodes” assumption. Moreover, in this method, all bubbles are captured in more automatic sense. This result provides a sufficient condition that “no neck property” holds.
